David Schwartz of local legends Mimi Chinese and Sunnys Chinese opened 尝颈苍苍测鈥檚, a deli-inspired steakhouse, on Ossington Avenue last month.


He鈥檚 studied and eaten all over the world, but for David Schwartz鈥攖he culinary and creative director behind and 鈥攖here鈥檚 no place like home. 鈥淎nytime I travel elsewhere, I find myself craving what the 海角社区官网culinary landscape has to offer,鈥 Schwartz says of the elevated institutions and tucked-away mom-and-pop shops he frequents.聽

His newest project, , is a deli-inspired steakhouse on the Ossington strip named in honour of his late, hosting-hooked mother. Between the world-class Ontario beef on the menu and the Palm Springs-tinged mid-century-modern room, it鈥檚 destined to satiate local tastes. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e looking for鈥igh quality ingredients in a space that makes you feel something,鈥 Schwartz says of Torontonians鈥 penchant for 鈥渘on-cheesy, experiential鈥 restaurant outings. 鈥淭hey want to feel like it was worth it when they walk out the door.鈥
