Federal election debates: Poilievre to push for change, Carney set for a battle and Singh aims to ignite party

Party leaders will square off starting Wednesday in two pivotal national debates as the federal election campaign enters the home stretch.

OTTAWA 鈥 Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre will push change, Liberal Leader Mark Carney will be ready for a contest and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh hopes to light a spark in the two leaders’ debates scheduled this week, according to party sources who have been preparing the leaders for these big nights听of the campaign.

Bloc Qu茅b茅cois Leader Yves-Fran莽ois Blanchet, Singh, Carney, Poilievre, and Green Party co-Leader Jonathan Pedneault will be in Montreal to take part in a French-language debate on Wednesday evening, followed by an English-language debate on Thursday night.
